home: the dream.

I realized I’ve made a kitchen post before, but I’ve never posted about home decor. Since I haven’t had time to sort through fashion week photos still, I thought I’d throw this baby out.

I think it’s so important to dream about your perfect home. While it may necessarily be exactly attainable, I believe it’s important to come home to a space where you feel comfortable and your personality is showcased.

I know in my perfect home, there would always be chocolate chip cookies baking, fresh hydrangeas, Edith Piaf softly streaming and old movies playing 24/7.

And there would be a giant poodle.

1. Audrey Hepburn wall art. I love this image, but find it cheesy sometimes. I ADORE this floral version for something unique.

2. Jonathan Adler Chandelier. Mid century vintage. Love the brass.

3. Royal Blue chair. For a regal effect.

4. Green leather couch. Obsessed with this couch. I love how it’s slightly masculine.

5. Embroidered Floral pillow. Pretty and dainty to soften the couch.

6. Trunk coffee table (vintage)

7. Leopard ottoman.

8. Gold sunburst mirror.

9. Floral couch.

10. Poodle bookends. My boyfriend may or may not break up with me if I buy them…but I’m soooo tempted to.

11. Folding table. Perfect side table.

12. Metal bar on wheels. Every home should have a fully stocked bar.

13. Assorted West Elm glassware.

14. Leather and metal foot stool by Lilly Pullitzer.

15. Stuffed leather chair.

*sigh* Suchy dreamy pieces.

To end, here’s some home decor eye candy I’ve been pinning lately.

the chicest.

After much consideration, I have come the conclusion that Natalie Portman in vintage Christian Dior was my #1 pick for best dressed last night.

image

While the dress was not necessarily gasp-worthy (aka, Gwyneth in a good way, Angelina in a bad way), there was just something so incredibly timeless. I mean, Vintage Dior from the 50s? You can’t go wrong. I’m not sure if it would be the best dress to wear for a Best Actress nominee, but for someone presenting she could not have looked more elegant or graceful.

I think it may have something to do with this comparison I keep drawing in my head…

Other dresses that made my list:

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford, obviously. By far the most fashion forward choice of the night.

image

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli.

image

Shockingly….Stacy Kiebler in Marchesa. Some hated this look. I personally loved it. Fresh off the runway from New York last week.

Last but not least…my girl forever and ever..Meryl Streep in Lanvin.

In her own sweet words, her final comments in her Best Actress acceptance speech:

“I want to thank all my colleagues. All my friends. I look out here and I see my love before my eyes –my old friends and my new friends. This is such a great honor, but what counts most to me is the friendship and the love and the sheer joy we have shared making movies together my friends.”

if you need me, i'll be watching annie hall and listening to jay-z....

Hey babes.

Ugh. Sorry for the unintentional hiatus ESPECIALLY during the most important month of the year - Fall Fashion Week(s) in NY, London, Milan and Paris. Actually, i was IN Manhattan during the heart of fashion week. All wide eyed and dreamy!

Unfortunately, we didn’t see much action, other than spotting an Amazonian model just leaving a show on the Subway in the Meatpacking District…But still, I couldn’t help but plot my future in the city with my man friend in tow ADMIRE what a beautiful and inspiring place New York is. I spent Monday morning walking up 5th from the Ace Hotel, to Eataly on 23rd up to Magnolia Bakery on 59th slowing but surely falling in love with that the energy that city possesses.

Sunset on the Highline.

Upon returning and perusing through street style photos from Fashion Week in NY, I had this dramatic bond with each image, like “oh, I was there that day” and “ha! I remember that weather…”. I love how photos from fashion week are so clearly stamped with the personality of New York, and it’s making them that much more inspirational to me right now. I realize how pathetic this is making me sound, so I’ll stop. I promise I’m not planning on moving anytime REALLY soon. But before recapping any favorite shows, why NOT share some favorite street style images from Fashion Week?? Just know I was there…
